The insurance industry in Norway demands that everyone who performs hot work holds a certificate that documents that they have undergone approved training in such work. The certification is valid for 5 years. Hot Work is understood to mean work where machines and equipment that are used can generate sparks and heat that could cause fire. Hot Work also includes the use of open flames, hot air, welding, cutting and, or grinding equipment.
